When do you choose Redis?
Choose Redis when a Redis environment is already running or when you need specific Redis functionality. For new projects without those requirements, we recommend Valkey.
Redis or Valkey?
Valkey started as an open-source continuation of Redis and uses the same protocol. We use Redis where it is already running or where a specific Redis feature is needed, and Valkey for new projects.
